I will call Sabhyasachi more of an author than a designer, he knows how to strike an intellectual chord along with his artistic undertone. Collection after collection one is left to ponder over what goes inside this endowed artist’s head.

His women  is an old school Mademoiselle who loves to read, think and have her own opinions.

The strongest feature of his collection has been that anyone and everyone can identify with his intricate, elegant and uncomplicated creations.

Savoring the taste of five cities New York, Kolkata, Berlin, Barcelona, and Paris he presented a truly global collection.

Combining the razor-sharp style of New York City along with the classic Parisian chic he presented what may be called a pot-pourri of certain thoughts.

Exquisite work of Russian needlepoint, Zardosi of Agra, Kantha of Bagladesh, block painting of West Bengal, chints from Britain and Pashmina from Kashmir created a vista that very clearly differentiated Sabhyasachi from other designers.

White, nude, red were the colors which ruled the ramp for the moment. Lehnga Saris  with full length underskirts, kurtas, slim column skirts along with neatly tucked in duppatas gave a very European  touch to the collection. Head pieces, eye wear, bangles were a result of a very thought full styling that went behind this collection.

I was somewhat reminded of a classic Ismail Merchant movie.
