Shantanu and Nikhil – She is the one

Shantanu and Nikhil’s collection gave a different denotation to the term ‘ INDIAN BRIDE’. Who says a bride has to be subtle and subdued? Today’s bride is powerful, unconventional, a risk taker and an adventurer. The collection was a palpable attempt to overhaul the image of an Indian women.
One could sense the gothic exaggeration through the dark tones of brunt blues, black, red, some pink and finally a streak of gold.
Ball gowns with embellishments, large ruffles at the necklines, dramatic voluminous skirts and Saris with sleeveless oxidized mesh draped jackets exhibited a potent concentration on European silhouette.
Rarely does a designer experiment with the very typical idea of an Indian bride, Shantanu and Nikhil did the required and the creations spoke for themselves. Every outfit gave a message about the newly acquired strength of an Indian bride who is proud to be a rebel and is completely soaked in her uncompromising charisma of individuality.
Sometimes it is good to have a personality of your own and in this cookie-cutter identical image world this collection was nothing but a striking embellishment only beautifying a fearless women’s distinctiveness.
