
Nikasha’s A/W 16 collection was all about reinterpreting some of the classic Indian staples and giving them a modern touch.
The press note began with a simple poem by Rumi “In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance Inside my chest where no – one sees you but, sometimes, I do and that sight becomes this art.”
Noor was a luxurious blend of ethnic wear with intricate details that spoke about the glorious Indian embroidery techniques with a punch of modernity. Antique and coral beads, kantha embroidery, hand block print in traditional form adorned the ensembles. The colour palate the she resorted to were Kasum red, Thar black and Chaas khadi.
Her preffered fabric for her entire ensemble was khaki. She added a bit of quirk with antique beads, cowry shells, katha embroidery, mother and traditional hand block print.
