The master-commander of Indian couture left his fans astounded when he presented his collection last week at the Delhi couture week. His authority over embroidery, detailing and amalgamating the fabrics showed out and loud when models sauntered over the ramp creating and indisputably exquisite spectacle.
AZHRAK-THE REALM OF SULTAN rejuvenated the regality of the Ottoman empire. What makes a designer a celebrated designer ? I guess his conviction to present his thoughts via his creations, Mr Valaya did exactly the required. We all are aware of his level of lavishness and his allegiance towards the Indian bridal wear.
The beautiful use of black, white, grey, charcoal blue, red ,subdued green and turquoise gave his collection a very unique look. Sari with an angrakha jacket was the defining silhouette of the show, heavy embellished lehangas with rich embroidered alikas completed the look. Each creation had a personality and every single stitch was done with finesse.
Anarkalis, with gold and velvet borders, heavily embroidered knee length coats, shervanis for men denoted Valaya’s loyality to his classic sense of aesthetics. The generous use Jacquard, Georgette and Lush combined with semi-precious stone inlay completed the look
The loose buns and metallic chains on the forehead gave models a very Mary Magdellin look.
