Calling him one of the coolest British designers won’t be an exaggeration. Coolest in the real form! If you are imagining some of the most quirky prints and silhouettes than can make heads turn, he is the maestro. Anderson is the only designer to be awarded both, the Menswear and Womenswear Designer of the year title at the same time in 2015. One look at his collection will give you clues of his imagination and his interpretation of modernity and gender fluidity in fashion. He belongs to a rare clique of designers who treat fashion as an interdisciplinary art form and this time he was enamoured by interiors.

JW Anderson reimagined a cock tail dress and built the entire collection around it. A cocktail dress which was less demure and more of an outfit from a sci-fi flick. The collection was replete with innovative silhouettes and cuts. An undulated skirt with panels of fabrics over a top forming a perfect A line-silhouette was one of the outfits that caught our attention. He reimagined pockets and attached them separately outside on the tops and trousers like zipped patches. Some of them had oversized flowers giving an impression of intricate embroidery.

His boots became pointed with striking iridescent scales on them resembling a mermaid’s fins. Another innovation was seen in his simple mules, which did have cylindrical heels but placed in a very different way.
